Insurance Claim Process

If your vehicle has hail or dent damage

Many customers use their auto insurance to pay for hail and dent repair. These steps walk you through a typical claim. Your insurer’s process may be a little different.

What to have ready

  • Your policy number
  • Photos of the damage
  • Your 217 Dent estimate
  • The date of the storm or damage

Steps to file your claim

  1. Contact your insurance company

    Call them, use your insurance app, or go through your agent. Remember your DOL, which means date of loss: the date of the incident. Tell them your DOL when you report the claim.

  2. Ask about coverage and your deductible

    Hail and dent damage usually falls under comprehensive coverage. Ask what your deductible is and compare it to your 217 Dent estimate.

  3. Write your claim number down, call us with the claim number, and schedule your car.

  4. Follow up

    Stay in touch with your insurer, and send 217 Dent your adjuster’s contact information so we can work with them.

Federal law states that customers are allowed to choose their repair facility, not the insurance company. 217 Dent has your best interest at heart. Your insurance company does not.
