Hail and Dent Repair for Jacksonville, Illinois

Jacksonville and Morgan County drivers are welcome at our Springfield shop, about 33 miles east on I-72. We repair hail dents, door dings and creases with paintless dent repair, which keeps the original factory paint on the car when the paint is not broken.

In-shop repairs only. We don’t offer mobile service. Drive-in customers are welcome at either shop during its open days.

Which shop fits

From Jacksonville, Springfield (Monday to Wednesday, 9:00 to 5:00) is much closer. Our Lincoln shop is open Thursday to Saturday, 9:00 to 5:00, but it is about 70 miles from Jacksonville, closer to an hour and a half, so it only makes sense if a late-week day is the only time you have.

Making the drive worth it

  • Call 217-306-4175 before you drive in, so we know you are coming.
  • Wash the car first. Dents are much easier to see on a clean panel.
  • Take a few photos of the damage. They help if you are also talking with your insurance company.
  • Look at the payments page ahead of time.

When paintless dent repair works

PDR is the right tool when the paint is intact. Many door dings, shopping-cart dents and hail dents fit that description. If the paint is chipped or cracked, the panel will need paint work, and we will tell you that when we see it (see our more information page). The PDR language page explains terms like R&I and push to paint that may show up on an estimate.

After a hail storm in Morgan County

After a storm, check the car yourself first. See our how to protect your car before a hail storm guide. Our guide on how to check your car for hail damage walks you around the panels, and the dent estimating guideline explains why we look at dents on a clean car, indoors, under proper PDR lighting.

Whether hail damage is covered, and what you pay out of pocket, depends on your policy and your insurance company, so start by calling them. In Illinois you are not required to use your insurance company’s suggested repair shop, though if your shop charges more than the amount they will pay you may have to pay the difference (Illinois Department of Insurance). We can’t tell you what your policy covers, but we can look at the damage in person and write up what we find.
