Choosing a Hail and Dent Repair Shop
After a hailstorm, offers come from shops you have never heard of, and your insurer may suggest one of its own. In Illinois, the choice is yours. Here is what to check before you pick.
Can I Choose My Own Repair Shop? Yes. You are not required to use your company’s suggested repair shop. However, if your repair shop charges more than the company’s suggested shop, you may have to pay the difference.
However it’s still your choice to have your vehicle repaired where you want.
What to check
Check their website
Look for real repairs, real addresses and a phone number that someone answers.
Check their reviews
Read what past customers say. Ours are on our reviews page.
Ask how they inspect
A proper hail estimate is done on a clean car, indoors, under professional PDR lights.
Ask about aluminum
Many newer hoods and some truck bodies are aluminum, which takes specialized tools and more time. Both of our shops handle aluminum.
Ask where the work is done
We do every repair in our shop. Today’s vehicles are computers on wheels, and many repairs may require calibration.
